“Josie Schuller is a picture-perfect homemaker, wife, and mother—but she’s also a ruthless, efficient killer for hire! A brand-new original comedy series that combines the wholesome imagery of early 1960s domestic bliss with a tightening web of murder, paranoia, and cold-blooded survival.”
Lady Killer is a breath of fresh air in comics. Although there is nothing groundbreaking in the book, every facet is done so absolutely solidly that it creates this wonderful book. Just take a look at the few panels I’ve posted. The artwork looks like the style of book from the 1980s, from the penciling to the color shading. The dialogue flows really well. You can just hear the characters speaking to each other in your head, like it was a movie. Finally the story is really intriguing. The main character, Josie, is portrayed as a wholesome late 50s, early 60s housewife. She has the perfect family, she successfully sells Avon products. But with the precision of a surgical instrument, authors Jones and Rich turn her into a double agent killing machine. Think Mrs Cleaver from Leave it to Beaver crossed with Kill Bill.
This series is a definite must and already a great start to 2015. I know I sound like a broken record, but Dark Horse is absolutely killing it.
